“We are taking questions on World Cup Final”- Pakistan manager’s response when a journalist asks a question to Babar Azam about IPL
Both Pakistan and England have made it to the final of the 2022 Twenty20 World Cup, but Babar Azam has been left bewildered by a question asked just before the championship match.
Babar, captain of Pakistan, spoke at a press conference on November 12 as his side and the opposing team prepared to play in the Twenty20 World Cup final. However, the Pakistan media manager had to step in when he was asked a question that made him feel uneasy.
To help improve his cricketing skills, Babar was asked whether he aspired to one day play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Babar Azam was asked a question about whether the Pakistan players have any hope of participating in the IPL
“Talk about the benefits of playing the IPL, is that something you feel would have helped you and your team, and is that something you have any hope for in the future?” a journalist asked.
Babar then looked at the Pakistani media manager and he said: “We are taking questions on the World Cup final at the moment.”
After the political tension between the two nations prevented Pakistan from playing in the IPL, Pakistani players did not return for subsequent seasons.
Rain is predicted for Melbourne on November 13, the day of the T20 World Cup final. Because more precipitation is forecast for the backup day (November 14), the Event Technical Committee has decided to increase the amount of extra playing time that will be available on a backup day.
To account for the possibility that more time might be needed to finish the match and get a result, an extra two hours have been allotted. In the knockout round, a match is defined as 10 overs per side of play. However, if the match is not played with 10 overs per side, both Pakistan and England will share the victory.
