The first semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 was played between New Zealand and Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney. In this match, Pakistan defeated the Kiwi team by 7 wickets and made it to the final.

Jimmy Neesham came to bat after his dismissal. Mitchell added 35(22)* runs for the 5th wicket with him. Due to this New Zealand managed to score 152 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs.
Pakistan started very well giving a big blow to Zealand bowlers. Babar and Rizwan made 100 runs in partnership. Babar scored a half-century of 53 runs in 42 balls with the help of 7 fours. After his dismissal, Mohammad Haris came to the crease. Rizwan shared 27 (26) runs for the second wicket with him.
This partnership was broken by Boult while dismissing Rizwan. Rizwan scored a half-century of 57 runs in 43 balls with the help of 5 fours. After his dismissal, Shan Masood came to bat.
In the end, the Pakistani team won the match in 19.1 overs. Masood remained unbeaten on 3 runs in 4 balls. While Iftikhar remained unbeaten on the score of 0. From the side of the Kiwi team, two wickets were taken by Bolt and one wicket by Santner.
